Ogun village head alleges death threat

A community leader in Ogun State, Olusegun Phillip-Ogunsola, has alleged that some residents of his community plan to kill him.

Mr. Phillip-Ogunsola, a factional Baale (village head) in Olorunda Village, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, stated this in a petition to the police in the state.

There has been disquiet in the village since two persons were appointed baales by two traditional rulers who lay claim to headship of the community. While Mr. Phillip-Ogunsola was installed by the Agura of Gbagura, Halidu Laloko, his rival, Asamu Adegbola, was installed by the Omola of Imala, Adelani Olabode.

Ogun Assembly Passes 44 Bills, 60 Motions In Four Years

The Seventh Legislature of the Ogun State House of Assembly has within the last four years passed a total of 44 bills and 60 motions into resolutions.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi disclosed this at the valedictory session of the Seventh Legislature with about 19 members out of 26 in attendance.

‘Ogun Workers To Enjoy Open Door Policy In New Dispensation’ Says Adekunle

Ogun State Civil Servants have been assured that the current dispensation of Governor Ibikunle Amosun in the State will continue to promote open door policy and give priority to issues relating to workers welfare.

The Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle gave the assurance while featuring on a television programme in Abeokuta.

She said the open door policy of the present administration would be centred on the general well-being of Civil Servants in a bid to create a conducive environment for the smooth running of governance for the benefit of the populace.

Covenant Varsity holds 10th Convocation

The Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State will hold its 10th convocation ceremony between June 24 and 28.

In a statement by the Chairperson, Convocation Planning Committee, Dr. Solomon Oranusi, the five-day ceremony will begin on Wednesday, June 24 with special convocation assembly, exhibition, world press conference, convocation rehearsal and special convocation service, where the Senior Pastor, Winners Chapel International, Pastor David Oyedepo, will be ministering.
